Job summary

Tulsa County Assessor's Office seeks a professional real property appraiser to inspect and document attributes across residential to commercial properties. You will apply three approaches to value, analyze data, and maintain accurate records for ad valorem tax purposes.

This role involves field work, mass appraisal modeling, and presenting findings during protests and BOE hearings. A degree is preferred; advanced accreditation and ongoing CEUs are expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Oklahoma statutes, OTC rules, IAAO standards and appeals process.
• Mastery of the three approaches to value and defense before the Board of Equalization.
• Working knowledge of mass appraisal modeling and data analysis.

Position Definition Under general supervision, identifies, inspects, appraises, and documents real property — residential, commercial, or multi-family, per assignment — to determine value for ad valorem tax purposes, in accordance with Oklahoma statutes, Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) rules, International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) standards, and Assessor office policies. Duties include physical inspection and documentation of property characteristics, application of the three approaches to value, and defense of rendered values through the protest and appeal process.
