Amazon is seeking an Applied Scientist to design, develop, and deploy production ML solutions at scale, solving business problems for millions of users. You will work on predictive modeling, NLP, recommendations, and generative AI, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate challenges into rigorous technical solutions.

The team, PXTCS, blends economics, statistics, and machine learning to improve Amazon and the lives of Amazonians.

Formación

• 3+ years of building models for business application experience.
• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.

We are seeking an Applied Scientist to build production machine learning systems that solve complex business problems at scale. You will design, develop, and deploy ML solutions that directly impact millions of users and drive strategic decision-making across the organization.

In this role, you will work on challenging problems spanning predictive modeling, natural language processing, recommendation systems, and generative AI applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous business challenges into rigorous technical solutions.

About the team

The People eXperience and Technology Central Science Team (PXTCS) uses economics, applied science, statistics, and machine learning to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements which simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives, wellbeing, and the value of work to Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team that combines the talents of science and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal.

Basic Qualifications

• - 3+ years of building models for business application experience
• - PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
• - Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• - Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• - Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

Preferred Qualifications

• - Experience using Unix/Linux
• - Experience in professional software development

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
