Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS) in Seattle seeks an Applied Scientist to advance GenAI and multimodal reasoning for large-scale product relationships. Qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s degree with 4+ years of CS/CE/ML experience.
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate research problems at GenAI, multimodal learning, and retrieval.
  • Design models with VLMs, foundation models, and agentic architectures for product catalog understanding at scale.
  • Pioneer explainable AI methods balancing performance with production constraints.
  • Own end-to-end ML pipelines from research to production deployment across petabytes of data.
  • Define research roadmaps aligned with business priorities and product improvements.
  • Mentor scientists and engineers on ML techniques, experiments, and rigor.
