Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented ML/GenAI engineer to design, develop, and deploy production-ready models for diverse industries from our Bellevue, WA area. You will collaborate with scientists and software engineers to turn research into scalable solutions on the AWS platform.

You will lead end-to-end ML projects, evaluate novel techniques, and establish automated data pipelines and model validation processes to ensure reliable, high-impact results for customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master’s with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python.
• Experience in algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, HPC.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate innovative ML models to solve diverse challenges and opportunities across industries.
• Drive end-to-end ML and GenAI projects with ambiguity, scale, and complexity.
• Build machine learning models, perform PoC, experiment, optimize, and deploy to production.
• Collaborate with scientists and software engineers to deliver ML solutions to production.
• Establish scalable, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, validation, and serving.
• Be the technical practitioner in AI/ML; lead efforts within the team and across others; explore new science approaches.
• Communicate scientific methodology clearly to diverse audiences.

Key job responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate innovative ML models to solve diverse challenges and opportunities across industries
• Drive end-to-end Machine Learning and GenAI projects that have a high degree of ambiguity, scale, complexity.
• Build machine learning models, perform proof-of-concept, experiment, optimize, and deploy your models into production
• Work with a scientists and software engineers to deliver machine-learning and science solutions to production.
• Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, machine-learning model development, model validation and serving.
• Be the technical practitioner in AI/ML; lead efforts within this team and across other teams; research new and innovative science approaches.
• Able to communicate scientific methodology clearly to audiences from diverse backgrounds

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business application experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Unix/Linux
• Experience in professional software development
• Experience building large-scale machine learning models and infrastructure for online recommendation, ads ranking, personalization, or search
• Experience with AI, Big Data, large scale distributed systems, online recommendation, personalization, or search

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
