Job summary

Amazon Science is seeking an Applied Science Intern within the Automated Reasoning and Formal Verification research horizon in Seattle, WA. You will collaborate with scientists to advance automated reasoning methods and apply them to cloud computing and secure systems, tackling challenges at the theory-practice boundary.

The internship offers exposure to distributed proof search, SAT/SMT solvers, and program analysis, with opportunities to publish work and contribute to AI-assisted research

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a PhD program with research publications or thesis work.
• Willing to relocate to internship location.
• 40 hours/week minimum for 12 weeks of internship.
• Experience in programming languages (Python; C++, Haskell, Lean).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and implementation of algorithms and formal methods for automated reasoning.
• Apply formal methods and automated reasoning to real-world software or systems problems.
• Publish findings at peer-reviewed conferences and journals.
• Review outputs from AI tools and automated systems for correctness.
