- Lead and grow a cross-functional team focused on behavior evaluation and human benchmarking for autonomous vehicles
- Design, implement, and operate offboard ML models for robust behavioral inference
- Architect technical roadmaps and shape strategic ML priorities aligned with company objectives and product milestones
- Partner with autonomy, simulation, safety, and product teams
- Integrate behavior models into the autonomous-vehicle validation ecosystem
- Turn human expectations about safe, comfortable, and intuitive driving into scalable evaluation frameworks
- Inform model development and release decisions
- Define behavior evaluation against human drivers
- Integrate behavior critic signals into validation pipelines, continuous release, and long-term performance monitoring
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience
- MS/PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong programming and data skills in Python and PyTorch
- Experience fine-tuning and deploying vision-based and/or time series-based ML/AI pipelines to production
- 2+ years of people management or tech lead experience leading engineering teams
- Preferred: experience with autonomous driving, robotics, or other safety-critical domains
- Preferred: experience in perception, prediction, planning, validation, safety, or systems engineering roles
- Preferred: experience designing and training foundation models
- Preferred: background with simulation-based validation for autonomy systems
- Selected candidate must be able to travel less than 25% for the role
- If living within a 50-mile radius of an applicable GM hub, must report to that location at least three times per week
