The Evergreen State College seeks a full-time regular* faculty member to teach Business and Applied Management at the undergraduate level.
Applicants should hold an MBA or PHD in Business Management or a related field. The ideal candidate will be a practitioner-scholar who can bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world business execution, using applied epistemologies to help students learn to solve complex organizational problems. The right candidate has led or worked closely with business organizations (private-sector, cooperative, or public sector) and can bring that experience into the classroom with rigor and relevance.
We seek colleagues who have a strong interest in innovative, collaborative pedagogy, and with experience working with diverse and underserved populations. The faculty member in this position will teach courses in Evergreen’s Applied Management certificate along with courses in their areas of expertise. Topics may include: operations management, strategic planning, financial management, sustainable supply chain management, project management, and quality management–- infused with emphasis on data-driven decision making, critical and creative thinking, ethical reasoning, equity, and sustainability.
This faculty member will also develop and team-teach interdisciplinary classes with faculty from the social sciences, humanities, arts, and physical sciences. For this reason, we are especially interested in candidates whose work draws connections to scholarship in areas such as public policy, labor studies, organizational sociology, cooperative economics, environmental studies, community development, and emergent technologies.
The position is in Evergreen’s school of Professional and Continuing Education. Classes are taught during evening and weekend hours. Candidates should be prepared to teach both in-person and online classes.
*Regular is equivalent to tenure-track at other colleges. A complete description of the continuing contract and conversion process can be found in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, article 11.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Employment-based visa sponsorship may be considered depending on the candidate’s current immigration status; however, the College is unable, at this time, to sponsor new H1B petitions that could potentially incur the $100,000 fee announced in September 2025.
