Job summary

Chase is seeking an Applied Machine Learning / AI Senior Associate to advance fraud modeling and authentication across lines of business in Jersey City. You will build ML models, collaborate with IT to deploy solutions, and communicate results to senior management.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Engineering, CS, Mathematics, Physics, or related quantitative fields.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving to relate business context to modeling solutions.
• Experience with ML methods (Regression, trees, gradient boosting, neural nets).
• Experience with model development systems like AWS SageMaker, Spark, Snowflake.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark; able to explain ML concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build ML models to assess authentication confidence and fraud risk.
• Contribute to full modeling project lifecycle: data exploration, development, QC, monitoring, review.
• Maintain partnerships with business stakeholders and communicate results to users.
• Perform data science on large datasets and guide business on model usage.
• Collaborate with IT to deploy production models in cloud platforms.
• Ensure models comply with regulatory and risk policies.

As an AI ML Sr. Associate within our dynamic team, you will be responsible for promoting long-term profitable growth by leveraging your strong business acumen. You will also collaborate effectively within a team environment and communicate results to senior management in a clear and concise manner. The CCB Risk Fraud Modeling team is responsible for developing and implementing best-in-class fraud prevention and authentication models. The team provides diverse models and analytical tools used to improve customer authentication experience and detect potentially fraudulent transactions across different lines of business.

Job Responsibilities

• Build machine learning models that assess authentication confidence and predict fraudulent events risk.
• Participate and provide support throughout full cycle of the modeling projects, including data exploration, model development, quality control, and performance monitoring and model review.
• Maintain partnership with business stakeholders. Collaborate to identify opportunities, collect business needs into model development and communicate model results to business users.
• Conduct data science from big data and provide guidance to business on leveraging the modeling solutions.
• Collaborate with IT teams to streamline, improve and deploy production models in cloud platforms and support firmwide technology enhancements.
• Ensure models follow regulatory requirements and firm wide risk/control policies.
• Work with colleagues with various backgrounds to maintain a productive and inclusive community.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

• Master or PhD degree in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other related quantitative fields of study.
• Skills with analytical thinking and problem solving that demonstrate candidates able to understand the business contexts, form hypothesis with potential approaches leading to solutions, search for data, and build up a model to ingest data to solutions.
• Experience on model development with statistical analysis and machine learning techniques such as Regressions, decision trees, Gradient Boosting, and Neural Networks. Depth knowledge.
• Experience on model development systems such as AWS Cloud, Sagemaker, Apache Spark, Snowflake.
• Skills with programming languages such as SQL, Python and PySpark
• Communication skills that explain ML/AI model details to audience with various backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

• Experience on sophisticated ML/AI methods like Deep Learning, NLP, LLM, Graph are further preferred.
• Experience with Graph database and Graph modeling are further preferred.
