Florida International University seeks a Paralegal for the College of Law's applied-learning programs. You will provide paralegal expertise to the Legal Studies Institute certificate program, assist with guardianship client representation, and coordinate the career coach program, while designing simulation and applied-skills activities for student development.

You will draft pleadings, manage client intake, assist with case files, and ensure compliance with confidentiality and FERPA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification and 3+ years in a law-related role, or 7+ years with 3+ years in a law-related role.
• Paralegal certificate from ABA‑approved program or CP/RP credential preferred.
• Experience in Florida guardianship, probate, or elder law practice is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and maintain legal document templates and exercise materials for coursework.
• Coordinate course scheduling, enrollment, and records for the paralegal program.
• Perform paralegal work on guardianship matters, including intake and file management.
• Draft pleadings, forms, and correspondence using templates; track deadlines and filings.
• Support students and instructors with practice standards, research tools, and expectations.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with FERPA and attorney‑client privilege.
