Job summary

Kansas Health Science University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Research to help expand a strong culture of scholarship at the Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. You will mentor students and faculty, develop feasible, rigorous, publishable projects, and help students and faculty produce abstracts and manuscripts.

The role emphasizes hands-on mentorship, project momentum, and tangible academic outcomes with collaboration across medical students, clinical faculty, and community partners.

Qualifications

• PhD in a health-related field and a record of scholarly productivity.
• Experience mentoring students, trainees, or junior faculty in research.
• Ability to independently manage multiple small-scale research projects annually.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Mentor students and faculty through the full research process.
• Provide hands-on support across all phases of scholarship, including refining questions, selecting designs, PS, IRB, data collection, analysis, abstracts, posters, manuscripts.
• Keep projects moving and ensure measurable progress toward presentations and publications.
• Contribute to teaching related to research and scholarship.
