Overview

Applied Critical Data Science Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania: School of Social Policy and Practice, Philadelphia, PA.

Open to two to three postdoctoral fellows pursuing work at the intersections of critical data science, policy studies, and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Teach two courses per year (Fall 2021 and Spring 2022) as part of the fellowship.
• Engage in research in applied critical data science aligned with program interests and cross-disciplinary initiatives at SP2.

• MSSP 607: Practical Data Science — Required expertise: Python
• MSSP 608: Practical Machine Learning — Required expertise: Python

Qualifications

• PhD required, preferably in a relevant computational, social science, and/or policy field with emphasis on data science and statistical methods.
• Background in data science, computational social science, computational linguistics, societal computing, or related areas; research at the intersections of critical theory and policy studies.
• Willingness to relocate to the Philadelphia area and teach in-person.
