Job summary

Apple Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking an Applied AI Scientist to advance multimodal foundation models and generative AI for next-generation products. You will bridge research and production, evaluating emerging ideas and running applied experiments with engineering teams.

You will influence data curation, model deployment, and on-device considerations while contributing to cross-team collaborations across Apple’s Multimodal Intelligence Group.

Qualifications

• Experience in deep learning with demonstrated work in at least one area of multimodal systems (e.g. vision, language, video, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python and in a modern deep learning framework such as PyTorch or JAX.
• Experience with rapid prototyping, reproduction, and validation of research ideas.
• MS in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or related technical field, and a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and adapt emerging research for practical applications in generative AI and multimodal foundation models.
• Conduct applied research experiments and collaborate with engineering teams to transform promising approaches into robust solutions.
• Engage with multiple teams across Apple to deliver high-quality products, considering future hardware design and product needs.
