Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join Beneficial Deployments, focusing on Claude in life sciences. You will prototype agents, integrate into partner workflows, and help scale research into production.

You’ll work with leading institutions like Howard Hughes Medical Institute and The Allen Institute, building ecosystem tooling and reusable infrastructure while shaping responsible AI deployment in biotech. Hybrid work in US offices.

Qualifications

4+ years as Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder with production shipping.
Deep research experience in life sciences, biomedical research, or scientific computing.
Experience building LLM-powered tools or applications: prompting, context engineering, agent architectures.
Builder credibility from shipping production code as a software engineer or founder.
A scrappy mentality, able to wear multiple hats and drive clarity in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

Partner deeply with flagship life sciences labs to understand workflows and move projects to production.
Develop reusable ecosystem infrastructure, MCP servers for domain data sources and benchmarks.
Identify hard problems in deploying AI in life sciences and relay findings to product/engineering.
Create technical content and documentation to enable partners to self-serve at scale.
