Anthropic is hiring an Applied AI Architect on the Beneficial Deployments, Life Sciences team to help scientists get the most from Claude (including Claude Science). The role focuses on running enablements, workshops, hackathons, building demos and notebooks, and growing a community of scientists using frontier models.

You will be the DRI for scientific enablement, design and run programs to activate scientists at scale, and scale enablement across teams.

• Be the DRI for scientific enablement: decide what to run, create materials, deliver trainings, and measure adoption and daily usage of Claude.
• Lead programs to activate scientists at scale (e.g., LSVP, Claude for Researchers): set goals, design and run programs.
• Build demos, notebooks, and tutorials that show how frontier models can be used in scientific workflows; share tools and insights publicly (e.g., X, LinkedIn).
• Scale enablement internally by training Applied AI and Customer Success teams and producing playbooks they can run without you.
• Build and lead a scientist community around Claude, support ambassador programs, and represent scientists at meetups and conferences.
• Act as the voice of scientists inside Anthropic: gather feedback, drive concrete product requests, and coordinate with Marketing/Comms to reach scientific audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise with AI tools for science, especially Claude and Claude Science; understanding of their strengths and failure modes.
• Credibility as a practicing scientist (academic labs, biotech, pharma, or research institutes) and experience helping scientific teams adopt new tools.
• Experience running demos, trainings, workshops, or hackathons for scientific audiences and taking programs from idea to measurable impact.
• Practical ability to prototype working demos using LLM APIs (production-grade software development is not required).
• Knowledgeable about contemporary AI-for-science concepts (e.g., agentic analysis, AI co-scientists) and able to explain them to working scientists.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for talks, tutorials, and documentation.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and wearing multiple hats.

Logistics

• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/training/experience.
• Minimum years of experience: will correlate with internal job level requirements.
• Location policy: company expects staff to be in one of its offices at least ~25% of the time (hybrid).
• Visa sponsorship: Anthropic does sponsor visas where possible.
• Compensation: annual salary range listed as $275,000–$315,000 USD.
