Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Welding Engineer to support the development, testing, and optimization of advanced robotic welding systems in Columbus, OH. You will collaborate with welding and robotics engineers on weld parameter development, robotic welding experiments, motion planning, and customer applications.

The role involves testing welding parameters, conducting robotic welding experiments, and working with robot motion planning while traveling 30-50% as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years developing robotic welding procedures in an industrial setting.
• Experience with industrial robotics including Yaskawa, ABB, KUKA, and/or FANUC.
• Experience developing welding parameters for carbon steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum.
• Strong knowledge of weld symbols, drawings, and print interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test welding parameters including voltage, wire speed, and travel speed.
• Conduct robotic welding experiments and troubleshoot weld quality.
• Partner with robotics engineers on robot motion, path planning, and automated welding strategies.
• Test sensors, inspection systems, welding processes, and new robotic hardware.
• Fabricate and weld test coupons for application testing.
• Operate robotic welding cells and perform manual welding when needed.
• Support customer applications and travel approximately 30-50%.

• Highly : Hands-on experience with GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and/or SMAW.
• Highly : Experience with robotic welding cells, automated welding systems, sensors, or inspection equipment.
• Highly : Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and welding process optimization.
• Experience troubleshooting robotic welding applications in a manufacturing environment.
