Eastern Controls is hiring an Application Specialist I to join our industrial automation team. You will work with engineers and sales professionals to identify the right solutions for customers, prepare quotations, and support projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare customer quotations and RFQs.
  • Recommend standard product solutions based on customer needs.
  • Collaborate with outside sales to develop customer solutions.
  • Communicate with customers, manufacturers, and internal teams throughout the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate customer and project info in CRM; support order processing and delivery coordination.
  • Identify opportunities to expand solutions with complementary products.

Opportunity

As an Application Specialist I, you will receive comprehensive training while working alongside experienced engineers and sales professionals. You will help customers identify the right solutions, prepare quotations, support projects, and gain hands‑on experience with industry-leading technologies. Whether you are a recent graduate or have gained experience through internships, co‑ops, technical programs, or hands‑on work, we will provide the tools and mentorship to help you succeed.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare customer quotations and Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
  • Recommend standard product solutions based on customer application requirements (training provided)
  • Partner with outside sales representatives to develop customer solutions
  • Communicate with customers, manufacturers, and internal teams throughout the sales process
  • Maintain accurate customer and project information within our CRM system
  • Support order processing, delivery coordination, and project follow‑up
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer solutions through complementary products and services
  • Develop technical knowledge of instrumentation, control valves, actuators, gas detection systems, and related process control technologies

Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field
  • Bachelor's degree in Business with demonstrated technical aptitude
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience
  • 0-2 years of professional experience
  • Internships, co‑op programs, undergraduate research, or relevant technical coursework are highly valued
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with CRM systems is a plus but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn technical products and software quickly
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Acceptable Alternative Qualifications
  • Associate degree plus 1-3 years of technical or industrial experience
  • Technical school or trade school education with relevant hands‑on experience
  • Military technical experience
  • Instrumentation, maintenance, commissioning, or field service experience
Physical Requirements
  • Primarily office-based with occasional visits to manufacturing facilities and customer sites; employees should be able to sit or stand for extended periods, walk periodically, occasionally lift or move items up to 10 pounds, reach above shoulder height or below the waist as needed, and wear required personal protective equipment during facility or customer site visits.
