Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Applications & Integration Lead to support KITS and our government customer in Washington, DC. The position is hybrid, requires 1 day onsite. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

We offer competitive compensation and an extraordinary benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K with company matching, flexible spending accounts, paid holidays, three weeks paid time off, and more.

The Applications & Integration Lead is the senior technical authority responsible for the operation, support, and sustainment of our client’s enterprise applications, integration middleware, release and environment management, and SaaS platform administration. This individual leads the enterprise applications and integration team in delivering stable, reliable, and well-integrated application services across the client’s enterprise environment.

This role requires deep technical expertise across enterprise application operations, integration platforms, middleware, and SaaS administration, combined with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team that delivers consistent, high-quality application services in support of our client’s mission. The Applications & Integration Lead serves as the primary escalation point for complex application and integration incidents, leads application operations projects and initiatives, and ensures that the enterprise applications and integrations perform reliably and securely at all times.

This individual must be capable of operating autonomously - diagnosing, deciding, and resolving within delegated authority without escalation to government personnel for routine or moderately complex matters - and must demonstrate expert-level knowledge of enterprise application operations, integration architecture, and SaaS platform management in a Federal environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the enterprise applications and integration team in delivering effective operation and support of the enterprise application portfolio
  • Establish and maintain application operations standards, procedures, and quality benchmarks aligned with ITIL 4 service management practices
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex enterprise application and integration incidents and problems
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of application-related incidents, from initial detection through resolution and closure, ensuring adherence to service level objectives
  • Monitor enterprise application performance, availability, and health, taking proactive action to address issues before they impact operations
  • Coordinate with the Infrastructure and Platform Operations team, Microsoft Infrastructure team, and NOC to ensure seamless application support and escalation
  • Lead and oversee operation and support of the enterprise application portfolio, including agency-specific business applications, productivity tools, and mission-critical systems
  • Provide expert-level administration and troubleshooting support for enterprise applications, resolving complex incidents and problems independently
  • Manage application user access, licensing, and configuration in coordination with the Microsoft Infrastructure and Asset/Financial Management teams
  • Support application patching, updates, and version management activities in accordance with ITIL 4 change management practices
  • Coordinate with application vendors on issue resolution, support cases, and product updates
  • Maintain accurate and current application documentation, including configuration records, operational procedures, and known issue tracking
Integration & Middleware Operations:
  • Lead operation and support of the enterprise integration and middleware platforms, ensuring reliable data flows and system integrations across the enterprise application portfolio
  • Oversee monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of integration failures, data pipeline issues, and middleware incidents
  • Manage integration platform configurations, connection management, and interface administration
  • Support design and implementation of new integrations and interface enhancements in coordination with the Infrastructure and Platform Operations team
  • Maintain accurate and current integration documentation, including interface inventories, data flow diagrams, and configuration records
  • Coordinate with application vendors and internal technical teams on integration requirements, changes, and issue resolution
Release & Environment Management:
  • Lead release and environment management activities for the enterprise application portfolio, ensuring controlled, well-coordinated, and low-risk application releases
  • Develop and maintain release management procedures, environment management standards, and deployment runbooks
  • Coordinate release planning, scheduling, and execution with application teams, infrastructure teams, and the Service Management Lead
  • Manage non-production environments (development, test, staging) to ensure availability and readiness for testing and release activities
  • Support change management activities for application releases in accordance with ITIL 4 change management practices
  • Maintain accurate release calendars, environment status records, and release documentation in the Government ITSM platform
SaaS Platform Administration:
  • Lead administration and support of the SaaS platform portfolio, including configuration management, user administration, and license management
  • Coordinate with SaaS vendors on support cases, service issues, platform updates, and renewal activities
  • Monitor SaaS platform health, performance, and security posture, escalating issues to vendors and internal teams as appropriate
  • Ensure SaaS platform configurations comply with security policies, FedRAMP requirements, and data governance standards
  • Support onboarding and offboarding of SaaS platforms in coordination with the Asset/Financial Management and Microsoft Infrastructure teams
  • Maintain accurate SaaS platform inventory, licensing, and configuration documentation

  • Apply least-privilege and separation-of-duties principles to application access management and integration configurations
  • Support Zero Trust Architecture implementation across enterprise application platforms in coordination with the Microsoft Infrastructure and Network teams
  • Assist in security assessment activities, audit evidence collection, and remediation of application-related security findings
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise enterprise applications and integration team members

  • Maintain comprehensive and current documentation of all enterprise applications, integration platforms, SaaS configurations, and operational procedures
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for enterprise applications and integration operations
