Job summary

Meissner in Camarillo, CA, is seeking an Applications Engineering Supervisor (Bioprocessing Design) to lead a high-performing team in delivering complex, customer-focused engineering solutions. This on-site role drives design of single-use systems and collaborates across departments to meet regulatory and quality standards.

You will mentor engineers, manage projects, and guide product support while maintaining a strong focus on cGMP compliance and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalent technical discipline from four-year college or university.
• 3+ years of bio-pharma or regulated manufacturing experience in a technical role, plus 1+ year of leadership or team lead experience preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Experience responding to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
• Write speeches and articles for prescribed publication style.
• Ability to present information effectively to top management, groups, and clients.
• Demonstrate CAD proficiency and strong word-processing, spreadsheet, and database skills.
• Apply advanced mathematical concepts and statistical techniques.
• Apply mathematical operations to frequency distribution, reliability, and variance analyses.
• Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Interpret various technical instructions and manage multiple variables.
• Excellent attention to detail, especially with single-use assemblies used in life-saving drugs.
• Clear written and verbal communication with internal teams and external parties.
• Able to lead customer discussions and present Meissner capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct Applications Engineering staff, provide technical guidance and workload prioritization.
• Oversee onboarding, training, and development of engineering staff; ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Communicate workflow and prioritization clearly within the team.
• Lead Mentoring Program for onboarding engineers.
• Evaluate engineer performance regularly and ensure accountability.
• Support customer inquiries by overseeing projects and leading by example.
• Develop single-use systems designs based on user and process requirements.
• Manage library of single-use components for assemblies.
• Support production and provide product support for single-use systems.
• Ensure processes and products comply with cGMP and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate across departments to share best practices.
• Manage multi-departmental projects to meet initiatives, timelines, and cost targets.
• Support continuous quality improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
