Job summary

ConMet’s Lisle, IL location is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer (Applications Engineer) to act as the key engineering interface with customers, coordinating with sales and engineering teams to promote ConMet solutions.

You will develop customer relationships, manage field engineering support, and drive project milestones within the APQP framework. This role emphasizes customer-facing engagement and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum five years' industry experience.
• Prior customer facing experience.
• Automotive or commercial vehicle experience preferred.
• Three years of plastics injection molding experience preferred.
• Experience with PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, and APQP checklists preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the engineering interface to customers, supporting APQP-driven development and project management.
• Coordinate with Key Account Managers and engineering teams to promote ConMet solutions.
• Prepare quotes and manage project milestones to drive on-time delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement of ConMet products and development processes.
• Build and sustain strong customer engineering relationships.
