Job summary
RED Group in Houston, TX seeks an Applications Engineer with a strong background in industrial control systems to support Sales by translating customer needs into customized control system solutions. You will develop proposals, run feasibility studies, and deliver technical bids for automation projects.
The role requires collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams, as well as traveling for on-site visits, trade shows, and conferences to drive business development and ensure winning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or commensurate experience.
- Experience in proposal development and estimating for automation systems.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, and SCADA design and programming.
- Travel to client sites for meetings and site surveys.
Responsibilities
- Develops proposals and cost estimates from RFQ through final quotation.
- Provides consulting to understand customer needs and technical challenges.
- Supports Sales with demos, feasibility studies, and technical proposals.
- Coordinates bid scope with cross-functional teams and reviews deliverables.
- Ensures clear communication of bid details to Operations.
- Conducts site surveys to clarify scope during bidding.
