Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking an Applications Engineer II to support the Formova division in Chalfont, PA. You will design, develop, and modify software for automated guided vehicles, using C#, JavaScript, and SQL Server in a Windows environment.

Travel up to 15% is expected; onsite role with collaboration across sales and engineering teams. You will work with customers to analyze requirements, assist with configuration and validation, and provide technical input for proposals and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 3-5 years of related experience desired.
• Proficiency in SQL Stored Procedures/Queries.
• Proficiency in C#.
• Knowledge of JavaScript.
• Prior programming experience required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify software solutions that control a fleet of automated guided vehicles.
• Develop and implement software within the Microsoft Windows development environment using C#, JavaScript, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Utilize Jira to track support tickets and changes to customer systems.
• Familiarity with XML / JSON.
• Complete assignments both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
• Support customer systems following project completion.
• Realtime support of emergency issues.
• Diagnose and debug existing software.
• Coordinate with customers and process Jira tickets.
• Implement customer-requested changes/modifications to existing systems following department processes.
• Perform upgrades to existing Formova project sites.

As our Applications Engineer II for the Indirect Service department, you will report to the Applications Engineering Manager.

In this role you will support the Formova Division within JBT Marel and is located in Chalfont, PA (45 minutes from Philadelphia, PA) Opportunity: Formova a JBT Marel Company is looking for an Applications Engineer II. Formova Automated Systems business is a leading global supplier of automated, self-guided vehicle systems (AGVs) to the automotive, food & beverage, hospital and consumer product manufacturing industries. With offices in the United States and Europe, we are one of the world’s leading producers of automated vehicle systems.

You will be responsible for working with our customers to support software and functionality with our systems. Our Application Engineers perform a variety of mainly straightforward or routine assignments. They use prescribed guidelines or procedures to analyze and resolve problems. They work with a moderate level of guidance and direction. You may train new team members and provide input to employee performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Has working knowledge and experience in their discipline and continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.
• Supports application engineering activities by analyzing customer requirements and defined use cases.
• Assists with configuration, testing, and validation of product applications.
• Provides technical input to support proposals, specifications, and customer documentation.
• Collaborates with sales and engineering teams to clarify application requirements.
• Supports troubleshooting of application-related issues during pre- and post-sales activities.
• Prepares standard technical documentation and application notes.
• Executes assigned engineering tasks in accordance with established standards.
• Maintains accurate records of application assumptions and configurations.
• Escalates complex technical challenges to senior engineers.

Travel & Location This is an Onsite role in Chalfont, PA, with up to 15% Travel (domestic and international).
