Job summary

Hexagon AB, Novi, MI, is seeking an Applications Engineer I to support PRESTO deployments. You will assist with installations, demonstrations, and training while gaining expertise in metrology and automation.

The role offers hybrid work and frequent travel across North America with hands-on exposure to PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, and related software. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and up to 2 years of related experience, plus strong communication

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
0–2 years of experience in metrology, manufacturing, automation, robotics, or engineering.
Basic understanding of GD&T, dimensional inspection, and manufacturing processes.
Willingness to learn coordinate metrology, robotic automation, and industrial software.
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel extensively and work safely in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Support customer demonstrations and Proof of Concepts under the guidance of senior engineers.
Assist with installation, configuration, and validation of PRESTO systems.
Perform basic measurement routines using PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, or similar software.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of customer technical issues.
Deliver introductory operator training and documentation.
Collaborate with Sales, Service, Product Management, and Engineering.
Document field findings and contribute to continuous improvement.
Travel up to 70% across North America and occasional international travel.

Summary

Applications Engineer – PRESTO

Location – Novi, MI- Hybrid

The Applications Engineer supports the deployment, demonstration, and customer adoption of PRESTO, Hexagon’s automated robotic metrology solution. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role assists with system installations, demonstrations, customer training, and technical support while developing expertise in metrology and automation.

Job Responsibilities

Support customer demonstrations and Proof of Concepts under the guidance of senior engineers.
