  • Develop inspection strategies for complex components and create, optimize, and validate measurement programs using MODUS, DMIS, or other relevant metrology tools.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept studies and feasibility investigations to determine appropriate technical approaches.
  • Troubleshoot customer measurement challenges, including programming, probing, fixturing, and measurement correlation issues.
  • Support customers during equipment startup, implementation, and production ramp‑up activities.
  • Provide technical support to regional and district sales teams throughout the customer engagement and sales process.
  • Assist with technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer application evaluations.
  • Help define project scope, implementation requirements, and technical information needed for quotations.
  • Train customer personnel on CMM operation, MODUS programming, measurement strategies, and metrology best practices.
  • Write and maintain metrology programs and support the identification and resolution of technical system issues.
  • Travel extensively within the designated Midwestern U.S. region, with occasional domestic travel as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and mechanical principles, with the ability to apply them to real‑world manufacturing and measurement challenges.
  • Experience in manufacturing, quality control, metrology, or CMM operations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Understanding of DMIS or other metrology programming languages is desirable.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM in a manufacturing or quality‑control environment is preferred.
  • Programming experience with languages such as VB, Java, or C++ is an advantage.
  • Previous exposure to machining or manufacturing environments, including internships, is beneficial.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities, particularly when working with complex technical systems.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including knowledge of trigonometry.
  • Good IT aptitude and ability to work with technical software and applications.
  • Ability to develop and write metrology programs effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer‑facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Good manual dexterity and the physical ability to install or work with equipment in a normal production environment.
  • Must meet applicable eligibility requirements for access to ITAR‑controlled data in accordance with U.S. export control regulations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel significantly within the Midwest and occasionally elsewhere in the United States.
Benefits
  • Annual compensation of approximately $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience, position level, and geographic location.
