Job summary

Securitas Technology, a global leader in integrated security solutions, is seeking an Applications Engineer to formulate engineered estimates for new and existing clients. You will collaborate with consultants, engineers, and sales teams to develop budgets and bid packages for access control, CCTV, intrusion, and related systems.

Ideal candidates have 5-7 years in security or construction, with BA/BS or higher in business or engineering.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of electronic security systems and onsite labor requirements.
• Experience 5-7 years in related field.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Attention to cost components and bid analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop project requirements from interviews, scope, site surveys, specs, pricing, and drawings.
• Create and present detailed equipment lists, electrical and installation requirements with turnkey costing for security systems.
• Configure and quote pre-fabrication for access control, CCTV and other systems.
• Interface with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support bids and projects.
• Support RFI, RFP, RFQ and RFM&S processes as needed.
• Work with project managers and design engineers on change orders and timelines.
• Manage assigned projects and meet deadlines; build relationships with coworkers and suppliers.

Position Summary

As an Applications Engineer, you will need to formulate an engineered estimate and or budget for new and existing clients that shall be provided by consultants, engineers, construction managers, and general contractorsand alsofrom in-house Sales Representatives, Key Account Representatives and or Project Managers.

Organizational Relationships

• Interface with Account Mangers, Support Services, Implementation Coordinators, Project Managers and Proposal Support Department on a regular basis.
• Interface with Customers, Manufacturer’s Representatives, Manufacturer’s Technical staff, Distribution Suppliers and Supply Vendors on a regular basis.
• Interface with area and senior leadership to develop a win strategy and evaluate the dynamics of projects.
• Work with fellow application engineers providing guidance and or design aid in projects and products that are unfamiliar to them.

Scope of Responsibility

• Develop project requirements from interviews, customer provided scope of work, site surveys, specification, pricing sheets and drawing reviews.
• Develop and provide detailed equipment list, electrical requirements, installation requirements and costing forturn-keysecurity system solutions.
• Configure and quote proprietary Pre Fabrication of applicable access control, CCTV and other systems

Essential Functions

• Product selection and application (to ensure the right productis usedin the right application) while maintaining adherence to Securitas’s product selection process and design standards.
• Estimate installation costs in conjunction with Implementation Operations, Service Operations, Internal Labor and External Labor
• Review of Field Site Survey documents and drawings.
• Supports the RFI, RFP, RFQ and RFM&S process as needed
• Create estimates and budgets for access control, intrusion,cctv, intercom, PSIM, PLC and structured cabling systems
• Review architectural, electrical, telecommunication, security engineering floor plans, riser drawings, device schedules, detail drawings, interconnect and closet layout drawings.
• Interpret specifications, addendums, revisions, sketches and Scope of work.
• Work with project managers and design engineers for creating change orders on existing and ongoing projects.
• Manage assigned projects and maintain deadlines for each project.
• Build and maintain a good relationship with coworkers, suppliers and manufacturers.
• Create a detailed list of clarifications, exclusions & compliance on a per project basis
• Knowledge of construction schedules, project meetings and how they pertain andimpactthe project.
• Able to research product information utilizing the internet
• Excellent working knowledge of construction industry conventions
• Good understanding ofworkloadand the requirements to maintain commitments.
• Ability to assemble all cost aspects of a project
• Ability to recognize strategic and competitive issues
• Ability to challenge labor bids from subs for various labor categories including IBEW
• Ability to navigate high value job environment for timelines, and compliance requirements
• Firm grasp of the competitive environment and strategic plays by competitors
• Excellent command and knowledge of building code requirements

Special Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Applicable amount of experience in the appropriate field may be substituted for the educational background
• Thorough understanding of electronic security systems, their individual parts, and the onsite labor necessary to complete an installation.
