Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; master’s preferred; PE preferred.
  • 3–5 years of engineering experience in precision assembly and manufacturing.
  • Experience designing efficient work cells and assembly workflows.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and blueprints.
  • Strong customer orientation and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficient with SolidWorks.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Effective time management; can handle multiple demands.
  • High integrity and alignment with company values.
  • Understanding of GD&T concepts and tolerance stack‑ups.
  • Experience using FEA software for stress analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Understand products, processes, and capabilities to meet quality, cost, and efficiency targets.
  • Serve as a technical representative with customers and provide solutions.
  • Review drawings to determine requirements and feasibility.
  • Select design concepts and technology for new or improved products.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Redesign processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with quality and purchasing to manage vendor quality.
  • Support manufacturing cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Use 3D CAD to generate models and drawings.
  • Enter data in ERP system.

Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Responsibilities
  • Has a thorough understanding of our company’s products, processes, and capabilities to serve our customers. Provides technical support to ensure that operations, equipment, processes and procedures to produce and assemble products are in place to meet quality, cost, and efficiency requirements.
  • Serves as a technical representative of the company in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers and providing solutions to their technical needs.
  • Reviews customer and other applicable drawings to determine requirements and/or product feasibility. Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones.
  • Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones.
  • Has a thorough understanding of our company’s products, processes, and capabilities.
  • Troubleshoots problems with production and takes corrective action.
  • Defines and solves manufacturing/design issues and implements cost reduction ideas.
  • Redesigns processes for better efficiencies and to lower manufacturing costs.
  • Partners with the quality function to define problem areas and implement improvements.
  • Partners with purchasing regarding vendor quality management.
  • Reviews test methodology and data analysis.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing cost reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain an awareness of changes in customer technical needs and industry trends.
  • Maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations.
  • Works with sourcing department to procure raw materials and purchased components needed to complete projects.
  • Assists sales team and manufacturing department in generating quotes for custom items.
  • Assists sales team in generating scope of work documentation for custom projects.
  • Supports sales efforts for tradeshows and industry events.
  • Uses 3D CAD software to generate models, assemblies, and 2D detailed drawings as required for projects.
  • Data entry in ERP System.
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical engineering is required. A master’s degree and P/E certification is preferred. Has the necessary training to be proficient in the position .
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of engineering experience with a precision assembly and manufacturing operation.
  • Has hands-on experience designing efficient work cells and product assembly workflow for multi-item product lines.
  • Has a working knowledge of manufacturing processes and blueprints.
  • Has a strong customer orientation and is able to effectively communicate, build relationships, present ideas, and partner with internal resources to meet customer needs.
  • Has excellent computer skills and is proficient with all related company systems and programs such as Solid Works.
  • Has strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands.
  • High energy with a sense of urgency in responding to customer needs.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity.

  • Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T as it related to creating functional designs and detailed drawings.
