Job summary

Weatherford is seeking an Applications Engineer to provide technical services for oil and gas operations. You will apply standard techniques, troubleshoot issues, and act as the primary interface with clients at well sites in a dynamic field setting.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background, 2–5 years in oil & gas, and the ability to work in the field with strong problem solving and client-facing skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 2–5 years of Oil & Gas experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, electronics, pneumatics, and/or hydraulics.
  • Strong math and basic physics/chemistry knowledge.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time management and decision-making skills.
  • Service-oriented mindset with quality control focus.
  • Physical capability for field tasks.
  • Travel up to 10% domestically and potentially internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily operations and safety meetings, including toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in safe, presentable conditions.
  • Monitor and analyze data to recommend optimal services and solutions.
  • Perform comprehensive job planning, tool preparation, mobilization, and execution.
  • Provide 24-hour availability to respond to customer needs.
  • Test, operate, and maintain tools according to established procedures.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships to ensure repeat business.
  • Follow up on equipment failures and contribute to Root Cause Analysis reports.
  • Perform engineering calculations and data interpretation as needed.

Key Responsibilities
