Job summary

Bespoke Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Applications Developer in McLean, VA to support production and development of web and mobile applications. The role requires strong teamwork, communication, and the ability to manage a moderate to heavy workload in an AWS-based environment.

Active Poly clearance is mandatory. You will design data objects, build interfaces, and help maintain cloud-native services using Node.js, Express, React, and related technologies while aligning with Sponsor standards.

Qualifications

• Frontend and backend development support for applications and services used to improve producer experience.
• Frontend and backend development support for production of complex visual products.
• Version control with Git and GitHub.
• HTML5/CSS3, Hugo or other static site generators, and SASS.
• Javascript frameworks including Angular, Vue, React and Node.js.
• Typescript, Webpack, Lerna, or Electron.
• AWS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and S3, AWS ELB.
• Express.js, Koa.js, or NGINX.
• RDS, MySQL, or DynamoDB.

Responsibilities

• Manage project priorities and tasks to ensure accuracy and timeliness, clarity of message, and quality control for products.
• Meet Sponsor requirements for quality, responsiveness, and accessibility; comply with development standards and best practices.
• Update assigned project statuses in Sponsor's production tracking tool.
• Design datasets and data objects suitable for JSON for interactive and mobile production, web apps, and websites.
• Provide development, maintenance, and upgrade support for in-house tools, cloud-based servers and services, project boilerplates, and web packaging tools in AWS.
• Advise and assist the project team in developing process documentation for tasks, knowledge sharing, and workflows.
• Use AWS CodeDeploy, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ELB, EC2, IAM, Lambda, and Jenkins to build, host, and monitor apps.
• Use Node.js, Express.js, Koa.js, NGINX, Lema, Probot, GitHub, Git, Angular, JavaScript, Vue, React, CSS and HTML to build and maintain servers.
• Store, retrieve, and manipulate data to analyze system capabilities or requirements.
• Build web-based interactive, web, and mobile products as needed; provide data transfer support.

Introduction

The Sponsor's production and development services provide high-quality interactive, mobile, video, web and audio products that concisely convey complex topics to a variety of executive customers. The Sponsor manages its own technical cloud-based infrastructure and custom applications and services to support production efforts. The Sponsor requires support specializing in Applications Development. The Sponsor needs polished skills in communication, teamwork, and collaborative development while managing a moderate to heavy workload.

Work Requirements

• The Candidate Team shall manage project priorities and tasks to ensure accuracy and timeliness, clarity of message, and quality control for products.
• The Candidate Team shall meet Sponsor's requirements for quality, responsiveness, and accessibility. The Candidate Team shall comply with Sponsor development standards and employ modern web and application design and development best practices.
• The Candidate Team shall update assigned project statuses in Sponsor's production tracking tool.
• The Candidate shall design datasets and data objects suitable for use with JSON to support interactive and mobile production, web applications, and websites.
• The Candidate shall provide development, maintenance, and upgrade support for in-house tools,
• cloud-based servers, cloud-based applications and services, project boilerplates, and web application packaging tools in an AWS environment.
• The Candidate shall advise and assist the project team in the development of process documentation to support individual tasks, knowledge sharing, and development process workflows.
• The Candidate shall use AWS CodeDeploy, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ELB, EC2, IAM, Lambda, and Jenkins to build, host, and monitor applications.
• The Candidate shall use Node.js, Express.js, Koa.js, NGINX, Lema, Probot, GitHub, Git, Angular, JavaScript, Vue, React, CSS and HTML to build and maintain applications servers.
• The Candidate shall use RDS, Oracle RDS, MySQL, and DynamoDB to support current applications. The Candidate shall develop and participate in software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
• The Candidate shall maintain and modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or
• improve performance.
• The Candidate shall review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improve current techniques.
• The Candidate shall store, retrieve, and manipulate data to analyze system capabilities or requirements.
• The Candidate shall build web-based interactive, web, and mobile products as needed. The Candidate shall provide data transfer support to team members as needed.

Required Skills And Demonstrated Experience

• Demonstrated experience with frontend and backend application development support for applications and services used to improve producer experience.
• Demonstrated experience with frontend and backend application development support for applications and services used to facilitate the production of complex visual products.
• Demonstrated experience with version control software including Git and GitHub.
• Demonstrated experience with presentational development including HTML5/CSS3, Hugo or other static site generators, and SASS.
• Demonstrated experience with functional development including Javascript, Angular, Vue, React and Node.js.
• Demonstrated experience with any combination of the following; Typescript, Webpack, Lerna, or Electron.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based infrastructure development and automation including AWS, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudWatch, and AWS S3, AWS ELB.
• Demonstrated experience with any of the following (experience with all three libraries is a plus); Express.js, Koa.js, or NGINX.
• Demonstrated experience with any of the following; RDS, MySQL, or DynamoDB.

Highly Desired Skills And Demonstrated Experience

• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based infrastructure development, auditing, and automation using; DynamoDB, ECS, ElasticSearch, or Kibana.
• Demonstrated experience with Jenkins or other related automation services.
• Demonstrated experience with Oracle.
• Demonstrated experience supporting system security documentation.
• Demonstrated experience with mobile mapping capabilities and charting.
• Demonstrated experience with Fastify.
