Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an Applications Analyst to assist in selecting, implementing, and supporting application software and interfaces. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of programming experience are required. Epic Hospital Billing certification is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field required.
• Epic Hospital Billing certification strongly preferred.
• One year of work experience in programming or related technical work.

Responsibilities

• Meets with personnel from user departments, Information Services staff and vendors to define and resolve application system problems.
• Develops specifications for software applications; design, code, test, debug, document and install software programs.
• Tests and updates software products with new releases.
• Assists with testing and installation of new software packages and modifications from vendors.
• Assists in designing, programming, testing and installing interfaces among systems.
• Maintains up-to-date technical knowledge by attending seminars and reading professional literature.
• Maintains quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with hospital policies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
