Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Application Tester for a technical development program in the IDAM/ICAM space. The tester will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive test coverage for two web-based applications and associated services.

The ideal candidate has 6–10 years of testing experience, strong manual testing skills, Selenium automation, API testing, and Jira proficiency, with a 40-hour work week and core hours 9 AM–3 PM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or the equivalent testing experience).
• TS/SCI with Poly
• 8+ years' testing experience including manual and automation testing of web-based applications.
• Strong knowledge of manual testing (functional, exploratory, regression).
• Strong knowledge of automated testing using Selenium.
• Experience in API testing.
• Basic knowledge of SQL.
• Experience using Jira.
• Experience with testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with developers, DBAs, systems engineers, security engineers, program managers, and other test team members on testing tasks in Jira.
• Ensure all testing tasks are thoroughly tested and documented in Jira tasks and moved along in the workflow.
• Contribute to test planning, test case design, and documentation.
• Participate in every-other-day scrum stand-ups.
• Participate in monthly retrospective sessions.

Description

Leidos is seeking an Application Tester for a technical development program of 200+ FTE supporting the Sponsor's Attribute/Entitlement Services within the IDAM/ICAM space. The Test Engineer will join an established, high-performing team supporting two web-based applications with extensive user interfaces serving a large end-user population, as well as organizations utilizing the applications web services. The ideal candidate will have between 6-10 years of testing experience, both in performing manual testing of web-based applications as well as testing automation experience. The candidate will work on a team comprised of developers, database administrators, systems engineers, security engineers, as well as program managers and a scrum master. The ideal candidate will be familiar with agile principles, specifically scrum. The candidate will be joining a team of two testers currently supporting the applications, and will be expected to master testing on both applications to ensure that the applications have sufficient test coverage. The typical work week for the candidate is 40 hours (eight-hour days), with core hours being from 9 AM to 3 PM daily.

The typical day for the testing candidate would be as follows:

Work with the team's developers, DBAs, systems engineers, security engineers, program managers, and the other test team members on testing tasks assigned in Jira.

Ensuring that all testing tasks assigned to them are thoroughly tested and documented in their assigned Jira tasks, and that their tasks (based on either manual or automated testing) are moved along in the Jira workflow

Contributing to test planning, test case design, and documentation

Participate in every-other-day scrum stand-ups where team members discuss the status of their assigned tasks

Participate in monthly retrospective sessions to discuss what they liked, what they learned, and what they lacked in the past month-long sprint

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or the equivalent testing experience)
• TS/SCI with Poly
• 8+ years' experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree.
• Strong knowledge of manual testing (functional, exploratory, regression) of web-based applications
• Strong knowledge of automated testing using Selenium
• Experience in API testing
• Basic knowledge of SQL
• Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
• Experience using Jira
• Experience with utilizing, writing testing procedures

Desired Skills:

• Software development experience with front-end applications and web services
• Basic Proficiency in, understanding of at least one programming language/scripting language (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
• Knowledge of AWS
• Knowledge of performance testing tools

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
