Job summary

Sift is seeking an Application Software Engineer to bridge our telemetry platform with customer engineering teams in the Los Angeles area. You will build custom solutions, integrate with Sift APIs, and translate customer needs into actionable feedback for product and engineering.

You will collaborate across product and engineering, ensure the platform evolves to meet real-world demands, and assist in onboarding and training customer teams while travel is required Monday‑Thursday.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and REST APIs with strong problem solving.
• 2+ years in software or data engineering in customer-facing roles.
• Experience with SQL, data visualization, and time-series databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain technical concepts.
• Interest in aerospace, autonomous systems or advanced engineering applications.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites (Los Angeles area) Mon-Thu.

• Application Software Engineers bridge the gap between Sift’s cutting‑edge telemetry platform and our customers’ complex engineering challenges
• In this role, you’ll work directly with customer teams to adapt Sift’s capabilities to their needs, build custom solutions, and foster deep partnerships
• You’ll collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate customer requirements into actionable insights, ensuring our platform evolves to meet real‑world demands

• Partner with customers to understand their technical challenges and adapt Sift’s platform to meet their specific needs

• Translate customer requirements into actionable feedback for product and engineering teams
• Create and maintain integrations with common engineering tools to enhance customer workflows
• Prepare materials and assist in technical onboarding and training sessions for customer teams
