Job summary

Cybersecurity Jobs in Houston is seeking an onsite security engineer to strengthen application and platform security across baselines, testing, IAM, and telemetry.

You will implement secure baselines, conduct SAST/DAST/SCA assessments, coordinate remediation, and own IAM activities including MFA. The role requires CI/CD integration, container scanning, and SIEM data flows.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain secure server baselines across Windows, Linux, and Cloud environments using CIS Benchmarks and related security standards.
• Run SAST, DAST, and SCA assessments for both in-house and third-party applications.
• Find, prioritize, and coordinate remediation for vulnerabilities across applications, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Own Identity & Access Management (IAM) activities including privileged access, service accounts, API keys, and Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Investigate and respond to server and application security incidents.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines, including container scanning and secrets management.
• Ensure security data flows into the SIEM, integrating security logs, EDR/HIDS telemetry, and application event signals.
• Review configuration for servers, applications, Docker, and Kubernetes to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Support patch management, security reviews, threat modeling, and secure release processes.
• Create security standards, procedures, and technical documentation; provide risk-based recommendations to stakeholders.
