Job summary

Ground Water Treatment in Wharton, NJ, seeks an Application & Process Engineer to drive front-end innovation and field deployment of wastewater remediation solutions. You will convert water quality data and client specs into robust designs, size equipment, and lead technical discussions with clients.

The role blends design and field work, with a focus on safe, compliant system startups, cost-efficient solutions, and hands-on problem-solving across stages from bid to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• 4–7 years in water/wastewater process engineering, sales support, cost estimation, or field commissioning.
• Drafting/review of P&IDs and mechanical layouts; AutoCAD proficiency required.
• Familiarity with NYDEC/NJDEP regulatory standards.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification or willingness to obtain; travel ~15–30%.
• FE/EIT or PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect custom solutions from client data and specs for scalable processes.
• Size core equipment to build accurate cost estimates and win bids.
• Lead client visits as technical authority and guide decisions.
• Mitigate technical, operational, and regulatory risk before bids.
• Create P&IDs, PFDs, and general layouts; maintain essential docs.
• Mobilize, startup, and commission systems onsite; field troubleshooting.
• Optimize performance using active system data; improve throughput and costs.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance during design and field work.
