Job summary

The Bernard Group, Inc. in Chanhassen, MN is hiring a Machine Applicator to join our team. We operate as a 1,000-person, employee-owned visual merchandising company that delivers high-quality design and production for acclaimed brands.

You’ll apply adhesives, magnets and velcro, run various finishing tasks, and cross-train in other areas like sewing, grommeting and laminating. This full-time role offers a stable schedule in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 year sewing experience.
• Experience in printing, print operations, or machine operations.
• 1-3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a fast-paced mid-size company.
• Experience with tape machines, magnet and velcro cutters.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual, semi-auto or automatic machines in the application process.
• Provide daily maintenance of equipment.
• Track time, materials and productivity through internal computer programs.
• Communicate with management, peers and clients to ensure proper creation of the product.
• Track inventory and communicate needs to the inventory specialist department.
• Peer train others as needed in the area when extra help is needed from temps and other department staff.
• Inspect the product before and after processing and reject defective parts according to quality requirements.
• Participate in installation and packaging of products according to department standards.
• Actively participate in the resolution of problems by improving processes and bringing ideas to the table.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

**$3.00 per hour Shift Differential on top of your base pay if you work the majority of your shift after 5:00 pm**

We are looking for an enthusiastic Machine Applicator to join our team! In this role, you will be completing machine and hand application tasks including applying adhesives, magnets and velcro to the backs of products we produce. Other applications include heat bending of plastics, attaching cardboard easels, brackets and fasteners. Cross training work is required in other finishing areas, including sewing, banner stand creation, grommeting, applying vinyl decals, lamination and other various finishing roles as needed.

Shifts available:

Monday through Thursday 3:00 pm - 1:00 am

A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you have:

• a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• 1 year of sewing experience
• previous work experience in printing, print operations, or machine operations
• worked in a manufacturing environment for 1-3 years
• worked in a fast-paced mid-size company
• previous work experience with tape machines, magnet and velcro cutters.

• have basic computer skills, including ePace and Google
• be self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs

In this position you'll:

Compensation Range:

$43,160 - $50,024 annually
