Job Description

The Applications Manager, Financial Consolidation Systems is the senior technical owner for MCG’s enterprise financial consolidation and reporting platforms. This hands-on role designs, configures, integrates, secures, and supports Oracle Cloud EPM Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS) across a multi-entity manufacturing environment. The position enables a consistent close and consolidated reporting model across the company’s operating ERP landscape while preserving capable ERP systems. It also partners with Data & Analytics to make validated operational data available through OneLake and Power BI.

The role translates Finance requirements into reliable application configuration, data pipelines, reconciliations, access controls, and auditable technology operations. Finance retains ownership of accounting policy, approved mappings, and close sign-off; IT owns platform configuration, technical integration, security, and service health.

Key Responsibilities
  • FCCS platform ownership: Administer and enhance Oracle FCCS and related Oracle EPM services, including application configuration, dimensions, member properties, forms, workflows, rules, journals, task management, substitution variables, security, and environment promotion.
  • Consolidation and close enablement: Configure Finance-approved consolidation requirements for entity hierarchies, currency translation, intercompany matching and eliminations, ownership structures, cash flow, multi-GAAP reporting, and close tasks. Convert approved specifications into controlled, testable system changes.
  • ERP and source-system integration: Design and support repeatable data integrations from IFS, Sage, Business Central, Dynamics SL, Spectrum, NetSuite, and other approved sources. Build and monitor file/API-based loads, mappings, validations, error handling, drill-through, and reconciliation reporting.
  • Data architecture and analytics: Coordinate with the enterprise data team on the flow of validated financial and operational data into OneLake and Power BI. Define data contracts, lineage, refresh schedules, reconciliation points, and support procedures across FCCS, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Master data and metadata controls: Implement controlled processes for chart-of-accounts alignment, entities, departments, cost centers, products, locations, currencies, and other dimensions. Maintain mapping tables, ownership, approval history, effective dates, and change traceability.
  • Technical operations: Manage FCCS environments, monthly and quarterly updates, configuration migration, release notes, service requests, vendor coordination, monitoring, incident response, and recovery procedures. Maintain runbooks and technical documentation.
  • Security and IT controls: Enforce role-based access, least privilege, segregation of duties, privileged access controls, periodic access reviews, and change management. Maintain evidence and system records supporting SOX/ITGC, internal audit, and financial reporting controls.
  • Testing and release quality: Develop and maintain unit, integration, regression, and user-acceptance test plans for FCCS configuration and interfaces. Coordinate business validation, manage defects, obtain approvals, and document deployment and rollback steps.
  • Technical leadership: Serve as the senior IT point of contact for consolidation technology. Lead solution design with Finance, ERP, Data & Analytics, security, auditors, implementation partners, and managed service providers; guide technical resources and vendors toward supportable outcomes.
  • Continuous improvement: Analyze recurring reconciliation differences, failed loads, manual journal activity, close bottlenecks, and support trends. Prioritize system improvements that increase data quality, reduce manual effort, and improve close reliability without forcing unnecessary ERP replacement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience supporting enterprise financial systems, with 5 or more years in financial consolidation, close, or EPM platforms.
  • Hands-on implementation or administration experience with Oracle FCCS and related Oracle EPM components; able to explain configuration, metadata, rules, security, data loads, and environment migration in technical detail.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating multiple ERP or general ledger systems into a consolidation or reporting platform, including mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and error resolution.
  • Working knowledge of multi-entity close and consolidation concepts, including currency translation, intercompany accounting, eliminations, entity hierarchies, and financial reporting; able to partner with Finance on requirements without substituting for Finance approval.
  • Experience with SQL and data integration concepts, including APIs or file-based integrations, ETL/ELT, logging, restartability, and data quality controls.
  • Experience supporting SOX/ITGC or comparable control environments, including access management, change control, evidence retention, and audit requests.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical risks and data issues to Finance leaders and nontechnical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oracle FCCS or Oracle EPM Cloud certification; experience with EPM Automate, Data Integration, REST APIs, or related automation tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, or enterprise data lakehouse patterns.
  • Experience in multi-entity manufacturing, acquisition integration, or a private-equity-backed environment with several retained ERP platforms.
  • Exposure to Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain or other ERP platforms represented in a heterogeneous ERP landscape.
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or relevant project, cloud, data, or security certification.
Success Measures
  • Reliable, reconciled FCCS loads are completed on schedule, with documented ownership and timely resolution of exceptions.
  • Close and consolidation processes become more predictable, with measurable reductions in manual adjustments, repeat data errors, and avoidable support incidents.
  • Financial and operational reporting data has clear lineage from source systems through FCCS or OneLake to approved reports.
  • Access, configuration changes, integrations, and releases remain documented, approved, tested, and audit-ready.
  • Enhancements improve consolidation and reporting capability while allowing business units to retain operational ERP systems that meet business needs.
