Job summary

RBC Bearings in Simpsonville, SC is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as a technical advisor, supporting internal and external customers. You will lead engineering projects, enhance product solutions, and stay current with Dodge products and technologies to drive better customer experiences and business performance.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering, up to 10 years related experience, CAD proficiency, and strong problem-solving.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field.
0-10 years of engineering, manufacturing, or related technical experience.
Proficiency in MS Office and 3D/2D drafting and modeling software.
Strong analytical skills with emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving.
Attention to detail with ownership and responsibility.
Ability to adapt and multi-task based on departmental needs.
Good teamwork and collaboration skills.
General understanding of basic project management skills.
Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for new ideas.
Lean Yellow Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide product and application-based technical customer service via phone, email, and chat.
Provide technical expertise with product selection and installation support, recommending creative solutions to customer issues.
Work directly with product designers to ensure model and drawing accuracy.
Occasionally travel to provide on-site customer service, including training, installation support, and diagnosis.
Collaborate with other business functions, including manufacturing, supply chain, product management, R&D, and quality.
Create new part numbers and establish/maintain BOMs.
Manage cost reduction and lean/continuous improvement projects, including laboratory testing, design, and qualification.
Regular attendance at work is essential.
