Role Overview

In the application engineering phase, this role focuses on developing technically sound and optimized solutions aligned with customer requirements prior to order placement. Once an order is secured, the role transitions into requisition engineering, providing end-to-end technical ownership to ensure compliance with organizational design standards, reliability expectations, and service quality requirements. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Sales, Project Management, Field Services, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and develop optimized technical solutions (configuration, performance estimates, economic analysis, etc.) as part of the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process while partnering closely with sales and commercial teams.
  • Perform detailed technical analysis of customer requirements, including product definition, scope, scheduling, industrial approach, and cost, in alignment with contract terms and internal policies.
  • Interpret customer needs and define scope of supply, including cost and cycle time inputs for assigned technical proposals.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including maintenance or enhancement of Technical Application Guideline (TAG) codes.
  • Own the successful execution of engineering and downstream activities for CM&U projects.
  • Resolve complex technical issues that arise during project execution by developing effective and timely solutions.
  • Utilize standardized tools and processes to establish project structures within enterprise systems.
  • Develop and manage engineering and drafting schedules using Enovia PLM, ensuring timely delivery to support parts manufacturing, outage activities, and downstream operations.
  • Manage engineering changes throughout the project lifecycle to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Ensure timely demand placement for engineered parts.
  • Author Field Modification Instructions (FMI) documentation.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Vendors, Service Shops, and other stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgeted engineering hours; proactively identify and address deviations.
  • Provide technical support to team members across domestic and global locations.
  • Respond accurately and promptly to technical inquiries using design data, historical documentation, prior reports, and expert collaboration.
  • Complete project closeout activities, including feedback collection and data analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
