Job summary

Connect Search, LLC in Stoughton, Wisconsin is seeking an Application Engineer to work closely with account management and customers to develop workable fluid flow layouts and resolve system-level issues.

You will design and integrate exhaust products for on- and off-highway markets, generate detailed 3D models and BOMs, prepare specifications, and coordinate technical support through testing and prototyping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; associates considered.
• 2–3 years of product design experience using solid modeling tools; interfacing with manufacturing and customer.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with account management/customers to design fluid flow layouts and resolve system-level issues.
• Design and integrate exhaust products/systems for on-highway and off-highway markets to meet customer requirements.
• Generate and maintain detailed models and Bills of Materials.
• Prepare specifications including 2D prints and engineering specs.
• Coordinate technical support activities including analysis, testing, and prototyping to develop system components.
• Work with manufacturing to optimize manufacturability and reduce costs.
• Ensure Design for Manufacturability is implemented in development and reviews.
• Maintain and manage project schedules.
• Review/approve customer print conformance.
• Travel to customer and supplier sites; 10-25% travel.

Summary

Connect Search is hiring an Application Engineer in Stoughton.

Responsbilities

• Work closely with account management/customers to develop a workable fluid flow system layout and to identify and resolve system-level issues. Act as engineering face to customer
• Design and integrate Exhaust products/systems for on highway and off highway markets to meet customer requirements
• Generate/maintain detailed models of designs and system level Bill of Materials
• Generate specifications for product (2D prints, Engineering specifications, etc.)
• Initiate and coordinate the technical support work (including mechanical design, FEA and CFD analyses, acoustical, flow and vibration testing, drafting, prototypes, etc.) required to develop system components against technical profile deliverables
• Work closely with manufacturing personnel to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost reduction
• Ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability) is implemented in development of design (DQR, DVA, Design Reviews, etc.)
• Maintain and manage project schedules
• Review/Approve/Process Customer Print Conformance
• Travel to customer and supplier sites as necessary, perform on-site testing, and present our technology
• Travel Required = 10-25%

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering strongly preferred. Would consider candidates with Associates Degree in a related discipline.
• 2-3 years of experience as related to product design using solid modeling tools (Inventor preferred but not required) – This person interfaces with Nelson’s manufacturing engineering team and the customer.
