Job summary

Redhorse Corporation is seeking an experienced AWS Application Development Lead to own the design, development, and maintenance of a web-based internal tool used by non-technical end users. This position centers on delivering secure, scalable solutions within Sponsor's classified systems and aligning with federal security requirements.

You will lead the engineering team, enforce coding standards, integrate APIs and databases, and ensure reliable, automated operations.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Cloud Computing, CS, IT, IS, or Cybersecurity.
• 5+ years programming in languages and web app tech.
• 6+ years in design and development of classified IC systems.
• 6+ years in Sponsor's AWS environment, cloud administration, and compliance.
• Experience with Agile requirements management and sprint planning.
• AWS certification or equivalent cloud credential.
• Experience with TMOD Archer design and development.
• Experience with SecDevOps, CI/CD, and testing suites.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of the web-based tool using AWS cloud services on Sponsor's classified systems.
• Drive architecture to ensure reliability and compliance with Sponsor and federal requirements.
• Oversee coding standards, code reviews, and QA practices.
• Implement secure software development techniques with encryption, user authentication, and RBAC.
• Integrate APIs, databases, and services for non-technical users.
• Interface with third-party systems for asynchronous requests and responses.
• Collaborate with IT PM and Sponsor to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Improve system reliability, monitoring, and automation.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Amazon Web Services (AWS) Application Development Lead, to join our team and take ownership of designing, building, and maintaining a web-based internal tool that will be used by non-technical end users. This crucial role will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in AWS cloud services and application development on classified Sponsor systems, who can guide the engineering team in delivering secure, scalable, and compliant solutions. You will lead a team, design and implement innovative solutions, and contribute to a forward-thinking environment. You will be responsible for leading the technical design and implementation of the tool, ensuring that development practices align with Sponsor requirements, security standards, and federal compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of the web-based tool using AWS cloud services on Sponsor's classified systems.
• Drive and implement application architecture to ensure reliability and compliance with Sponsor and federal requirements.
• Oversee coding standards, code reviews, and QA practices.
• Implement secure software development techniques, incorporating encryption, user authentication, and role-based access control.
• Drive the integration of APIs, databases, and other services to support functionality for non-technical users.
• Programmatically interface with third-party systems for asynchronous request and response exchange.
• Work closely with the IT PM and Sponsor stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Continuously improve system reliability, monitoring, and automation.

Required Experience/Clearance

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity
• 5+ years programming experience in programming languages and web application technologies and integration
• 6+ years in application design and development of classified IC systems
• 6+ years combined experience in Sponsor's AWS environment, cloud systems administration, cloud environment management, and compliance assessments.
• Experience with Agile requirements management and sprint planning
• Certified in AWS or equivalent cloud technology.
• Experience with TMOD Archer design and development
• Experience with SecDevOps such as CI/CD and testing suites

Desired Experience

• Master's degree in any of the above fields
• Experience with Agile PM tools such as Jira or Confluence
• 10+ years' experience working in the IC.
• Experience programming with AngularJS, JavaScript, JAVA, HTML, CSS
• Experience with relational databases and NoSQL data solutions, SQL, and other query languages
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, or similar solutions. $130,000 - $170,000 a year The salary range provided for this position represents the anticipated base salary for successful candidates. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, security clearance level, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in Redhorse's comprehensive benefits programs and may be eligible for performance-based or other incentive compensation, where applicable.
