Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) in Etters, PA is seeking an Application Development Build Engineer with strong Smartsheet expertise to design, build, automate, deploy, and support scalable business applications within the Engineering Systems team.

You will translate business needs into Smartsheet-based solutions, build integrations using Data Shuttle/DataMesh/Bridge, and manage release activities. A 3+ year Smartsheet background is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant hands-on experience will be considered.
• 3+ years of hands-on Smartsheet solution development, administration, or support experience
• Experience in application development, build engineering, solution configuration, platform administration, or business systems support
• Advanced knowledge of Smartsheet sheets, dashboards, reports, forms, formulas, cross-sheet references, automations, and permissions
• Experience with Control Center and Smartsheet data, automation, or integration tools
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, test, deploy, and maintain Smartsheet applications, templates, dashboards, forms, reports, and automated workflows
• Develop scalable Control Center blueprints, intake processes, provisioning models, and reusable solution components
• Manage build and release activities, including requirements validation, testing, deployment planning, and post-release support
• Troubleshoot formulas, automations, integrations, permissions, data issues, and production defects
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into Smartsheet-based technical solutions
• Build integrations using Smartsheet capabilities such as Data Shuttle, DataMesh, Dynamic View, Bridge, Pivot App, and API-based connections
• Document solution design, configuration decisions, integration flows, testing results, and support procedures
• Provide technical support for Smartsheet application issues, user questions, defects, and enhancements
• Manage workspace structure, access controls, permissions, ownership, and governance standards
• Create user guides, release notes, training materials, and knowledge-transfer resources

To support continued growth within the Amphenol Cable Backplane Systems group, we are seeking an Application Development Build Engineer to join our Engineering Systems team in Etters, PA.

Amphenol is seeking an Application Development Build Engineer with strong Smartsheet expertise to design, build, automate, deploy, and support scalable business applications. This role combines application development, platform configuration, integration, release management, and user support, and will play an important role in supporting the continued growth of our Cable Backplane business.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Build, Configuration & Release Engineering

• Design, configure, test, deploy, and maintain Smartsheet applications, templates, dashboards, forms, reports, and automated workflows
• Develop scalable Control Center blueprints, intake processes, provisioning models, and reusable solution components
• Manage build and release activities, including requirements validation, testing, deployment planning, and post-release support
• Troubleshoot formulas, automations, integrations, permissions, data issues, and production defects

Integration, Automation & Technical Solution Design

• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into Smartsheet-based technical solutions
• Build integrations using Smartsheet capabilities such as Data Shuttle, DataMesh, Dynamic View, Bridge, Pivot App, and API-based connections
• Document solution design, configuration decisions, integration flows, testing results, and support procedures

Platform Support, Governance & User Enablement

• Provide technical support for Smartsheet application issues, user questions, defects, and enhancements
• Manage workspace structure, access controls, permissions, ownership, and governance standards
• Create user guides, release notes, training materials, and knowledge-transfer resources

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant hands‑on experience will be considered.
• 3+ years of hands‑on Smartsheet solution development, administration, or support experience
• Experience in application development, build engineering, solution configuration, platform administration, or business systems support
• Advanced knowledge of Smartsheet sheets, dashboards, reports, forms, formulas, cross‑sheet references, automations, and permissions
• Experience with Control Center and Smartsheet data, automation, or integration tools
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Smartsheet certification or equivalent demonstrated experience
• Experience with APIs, scripting, Power Automate, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau
• Experience supporting PMO, project portfolio management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or operations teams
• Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid delivery, SDLC, or release management practices
