Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an Application Developer 1 to support the internal development team in analyzing requirements, designing, developing, testing, and implementing software systems. You will modify existing software, analyze business needs, and maintain system documentation to align with the company’s strategy and values.

You will troubleshoot issues, collaborate with teammates, and help improve business processes while delivering reliable software solutions in a normal office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years application development experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
• Typically travel is not required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and fix application issues.
• Modify existing applications and reports for new hardware/software versions.
• Consult with internal development team to evaluate interfaces, develop specifications, and gather performance requirements.
• Prepare and maintain project and system documentation.
• Provide updates to end users on project status, proposals and technical issues.

Role Summary

The Application Developer 1 will support internal development team to analyze requirements, design, develop, test, and implement software systems. This position will be responsible for modifying existing software, analyzing business requirements, and maintaining system or program documentation. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

• Autonomy & Decision-Making: Makes decisions on assigned areas of responsibility, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor, as needed.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT FAMILY - CORE

• Has responsibility for troubleshooting and fixing application issues that have been assigned.
• Modifies existing applications and reports to correct issues or to adapt to new hardware/software versions.
• Consults with internal development team members to evaluate software interfaces, develop specifications, and gather performance requirements.
• Prepares and maintains project and system documentation.
• Provides updates to end users on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance.
• Has responsibility for supporting existing business processes.
• Focuses primarily on the reasoning behind business processes and provides recommendations to improve those processes.

• Proficiency in Object-Oriented server side technologies (PHP, C#, or equivalent)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (Required)
• In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

• 2+ years application development experience (Preferred)
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
• Typically travel is not required
• Normal office environment
• Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen
• Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Climbing, Reaching above Shoulder
