Job description

The Application Developer is a fully competent and productive professional contributor who works under general direction to develop, test, implement, and support new and existing software applications. This role collaborates with University stakeholders, cross-functional IT teams, and, as appropriate, outside partners to deliver technical solutions that meet defined business needs using established architectures, frameworks, and development practices. This role supports critical systems that help the university manage course registration, academic scheduling, and future planning. The successful candidate will work with technology used to optimize course access for students while also supporting data-driven decisions related to classroom utilization, instructional resources, and strategic growth initiatives. It is an opportunity to contribute to systems that have a direct and meaningful impact on both the student experience and the university's long-term planning efforts.

The Application Developer works on moderately complex technical work, supports application documentation, and follows established coding standards and best practices. This position analyzes, modifies, and maintains existing applications, providing monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution to ensure reliable system performance and usability. In addition, the Application Developer contributes to project and enhancement efforts by implementing assigned tasks, supporting testing activities, and assisting with effort estimation and technical analysis. The role participates in agile development processes, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates with senior team members to deliver solutions efficiently and consistently.
