Job summary

eStaff LLC is seeking two Application Developers for a remote role, with the possibility of on-site meetings in Oklahoma City, OK. The role supports a modernization initiative to replace aging legacy systems using a modern stack: Angular, REST APIs, Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure Function Apps, and Power BI.

You will work on a multi-year modernization program, collaborating with client staff and project managers to deliver scalable and secure software, while aligning with SDLC and Agile

Qualifications

• Knowledge of modern application development frameworks and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies, including Agile.
• Experience with business process analysis, functional design, and user story development.
• Understanding client business rules, including Pension Software System specifics.
• Familiarity with legacy systems architecture, dependencies, and integration points.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work with minimal defects and translate specs into production-ready software.
• Ability to collaborate with client staff, analysts, testers, and managers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet timelines.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Job description

We are seeking 2 Application Developers for a remote role; in-person attendance may be required for some on-site meetings in Oklahoma City, OK. This is a 5 +multi-year role supporting a modernization initiative to replace aging legacy systems. Modernization responds to long-standing challenges such as fragmented workflows, manual processes, limited scalability, and stability issues in legacy technologies. The initiative introduces a modern stack—Angular, REST APIs, Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure Function Apps, Power BI, a document management and process automation solution (pending platform evaluation and alternatives)—to support scalable, secure, and efficient operations.

Current state:

• Legacy systems moved from on-premises hosting to Azure cloud migration in May 2024
• Member portal modernized July 2025
• All IS resources support legacy systems while simultaneously building modernized ones
• Project charter and Software Development Life Cycle established and in practice
• Environment and foundation for modern applications defined and nearing completion

Expected outcomes:

• All major systems operate on the Azure platform with improved performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Reduced manual work, fewer errors, and significantly improved turnaround times.
• A modern document storage and capture solution, with improved workflows and reduced fragmentation

Requirements

• Knowledge of modern application development frameworks, programming languages, and secure coding practices
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile
• Knowledge of business process analysis, functional design principles, documentation standards, user story development, and acceptance criteria definition
• Knowledge of client business rules, including those specific to the Pension Software System
• Familiarity with legacy systems architecture, dependencies, technologies, and integration points
• Skill in performing all aspects of application development, including coding, unit testing, documentation, code reviews, and submitting pull requests for client staff to review
• Skill in developing, enhancing, and maintaining application components that meet functional and technical requirements
• Skill in developing clear, actionable user stories and maintaining a prioritized backlog
• Skill in developing APIs, system interfaces, and automation workflows
• Ability to deliver high-quality work output with minimal defects
• Ability to translate technical specifications into maintainable, production-ready software
• Ability to collaborate effectively with client technical staff, analysts, testers, and project managers
• Ability to manage multiple development tasks and meet established timelines
