Universal Health Services, Inc. in King of Prussia, PA, seeks an Application Analyst II-BH Clinical Systems to bridge Corporate IS and behavioral health facilities. You will support Cerner-based clinical workflows, assist with implementations, testing, and user training, and handle ticket resolution with stakeholders nationwide.

Qualifications

• 2 years of college coursework toward a Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree is required.
• 3-5 years of related experience is required.
• Understanding of clinical workflow and operational processes in a behavioral health facility including nurse units, therapies, intake; Cerner experience required.
• Direct patient care experience preferred; basic computer skills and MS Office required.
• Advanced knowledge of clinical information systems (Cerner) preferred.
• Mentoring/leadership and cross-functional collaboration with clinicians for software specs and workflow improvements.
• Comfortable interacting with physicians and clinicians at all levels.
• General IT knowledge including basic troubleshooting of computers, networks, printers, scanners, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Application Analyst II-BH Clinical Systems.

The Application Analyst II-BH Clinical Systems acts as a clinical liaison between the Corporate IS Department and the BH facility. Perform duties associated with implementation, training, support, and maintenance for all aspects of the clinical information system. Duties also include performing basic computer and computer peripherals troubleshooting skills. This position provides problem tracking, resolution, enhancement requests, active participation in system testing, workflow redesign, change management, and ongoing Cerner education to facility employees and physicians.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provides on-going support and management of clinical applications
• Regularly meets with users, vendors, and IS staff to develop/modify system specifications.
• Supports the implementations of applications and prepares the appropriate documentation.
• Performs system testing and documentation for all phases of the application development life cycle.
• Performs Q/A on application functionality.
• Researches and resolves implementation-related Customer Support Center Tickets.
• Adheres to appropriate UHS Project Management standards.
• Ensures strict adherence to work plans, reporting all serious deviations to management.
• Assists with the training of users in operating procedures for application.
• Coordinates project team member activities to achieve common objectives.
• Working in conjunction with a project manager, monitors project plans. Tracks project status, issues and progress.
• Researches and resolves Customer Support Center Tickets including major application upgrades.
• Adheres to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies.
• Provides on-call support as scheduled.
• Establishes and maintains regular communications with user community.
• Maintains Service Excellence principles.
• Prepares and submits status reports to supervisor as required.
• Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems.
• Performs other tasks as required by management.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

• 2 years of completed college coursework towards a Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree is required.
• 3-5 years of related experience is required.
• Understanding of clinical workflow and operational processes within a behavioral health facility including but not limited to nurse unit/dept, therapies, and intake. Previous Cerner experience is required.
• Minimum two years direct patient care experience preferred. Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office experience required.
• Advanced working knowledge of clinical information systems (Cerner) preferred.
• Mentoring/leadership experience. Ability to collaborate with clinicians to discern software specifications, hardware requirements, and process improvement workflows.
• Must be comfortable and confident interacting with physicians and clinicians at all levels.
• Additional skills desired for the position include general IT knowledge that includes basic troubleshooting skills of computers, laptops, networks, and peripherals (printers, microphones, scanners, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

License or Registration Requirements: Hospital or Healthcare facility experience preferred. Clinical and Application Knowledge preferred.

Travel Requirements: Up to 40% regional travel (depending on projects).
