Job summary

Friendsview Retirement Community in Newberg, OR is seeking an experienced Appliance Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipment and residential appliances. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and keep accurate service records.

In this full-time role, you will communicate with customers and teammates while ensuring safety and reliability of equipment.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of appliance repair experience (commercial kitchen equipment preferred).
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while being a great teammate.
• Great customer service and communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; EPA 608 Certification preferred.
• Appliance repair or related trade certifications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipment and residential appliances.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using schematics and manuals.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• Order and replace parts while maintaining service records.
• Communicate repair recommendations and updates with customers and team members.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle.
• Respond to occasional emergency or after-hours service calls.
• Follow safety standards and collaborate to keep the community running smoothly.

Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Pass a DHS criminal background check
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Carry required automobile liability insurance
