Job summary

ASM Research is seeking a cybersecurity specialist to create and validate secure systems, work with developers to close security gaps, and conduct comprehensive testing for assurance. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field, 5–10 years of security experience, and a Secret clearance.

Job description

Creates cyber-intelligence tools / methods and performs research and analysis in order to mitigate and eliminate data and cyber security risks. Designs and develops acceptance criteria for cybersecurity architecture.

• Work closely with a developer to identify potential shortcomings in a new software deployment.
• Plan out how to fix security issues with the developer.
• Test the developer's solution and confirm that it resolves the security gap.
• Configures and validates secure systems, tests security products/systems to detect computer and information security weaknesses.
• Involved in the periodic conduct of a review of each system’s audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.
• Designs, develops, or recommends integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected.
• Involved in the establishment of strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems.
• Reviews processes and security protocols and makes recommendations for increased cyber security protection.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 years of experience in systems security.
• Secret Security Clearance

• Strong tester who can understand security language and complexities.
• Ideally will have a background in testing fundamentals and agile processes and procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Must be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Advanced knowledge of encryption, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, cyber forensics, intrusion detection, and incident response and remediation.

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role.
