Job summary

Judicial Branch of California's Division Three of the Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District in Los Angeles is accepting applications for a research attorney. The attorney will collaborate with the justice in the preparation of opinions, gaining civil and criminal appellate experience at the appellate level with significant responsibility and challenge.

Level A requires active State Bar of California membership; Levels B–D add post-bar experience benchmarks, including appellate experience or

Qualifications

• Active membership in the State Bar of California.
• Level B requires two years of post-bar legal experience in a legal setting.
• Level C requires three years post-bar legal experience in a legal setting.
• Level D requires four years post-bar legal experience in a legal setting.
• One year of appellate experience may count toward levels B–D when paired with judicial branch work.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the justice in the preparation of opinions.
