The State of Georgia, Office of the Attorney General, Department of Law, is hiring Deputy Solicitor General and Assistant Solicitor General. These roles involve leading appellate litigation, drafting briefs, presenting oral arguments, and managing complex cases on behalf of Georgia agencies.

Qualified applicants will have a law degree, Georgia bar admission or willingness, and strong appellate litigation experience; judicial clerkship is preferred for senior roles.

Qualifications

• Aptitude for legal analysis, brief writing, and oral communication.
• Law degree from an accredited law school (JD).
• Admitted to Georgia bar (or willingness to pursue).

Responsabilités

• Draft and file briefs in appellate courts, including U.S. Supreme Court and Georgia Supreme Court.
• Present oral argument in appellate courts.
• Prepare amicus briefs for multistate coalitions.
• Review draft appellate briefs and participate in moot sessions.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda for senior staff.
