Job summary

The Deputy Attorneys General in the Appeals Unit are responsible for appellate and postconviction litigation of criminal cases in state courts. They also assist trial attorneys with complex issues and provide guidance on state appeals and related matters.

This role operates from Kent County within the Criminal Division of the Office of the Attorney General. Excellent research and writing skills are required and all applicants must be members of the Delaware Bar.

Qualifications

• Excellent research and writing skills required.
• Must be a member of the Delaware Bar.

Responsibilities

• Handle appellate and postconviction litigation in state courts.
• Appear before the Delaware Supreme Court and assist trial attorneys with complex issues.
• Provide legal research and guidance on takings of State appeals, amicus participation, and legislative matters.
