The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas is seeking an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) for the Appellate Division in Houston, TX. You will research, write appellate briefs and post-conviction responses, and present oral arguments on a variety of complex and novel issues involving the constitution, statutory construction, and sentencing.

Applicants must have a J.D. degree and be an active member of the bar; strong research and writing skills, courtroom

Qualifications

• Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction by the entry on duty date.
• Strong research and writing skills with appellate experience preferred.
• Ability to manage a high-volume briefing and appellate workload.

Responsibilities

• Research, write appellate briefs and post-conviction responses.
• Present oral arguments on a variety of complex issues.
• Provide real-time trial assistance to Criminal Division AUSAs.
