Kroger in Parker, AL is seeking an enthusiastic Customer Service Associate to create an outstanding shopping experience. You will help customers, answer questions about products, keep the department clean, stocked, and organized, and support the department manager in achieving sales goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18.
  • Must meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
  • Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer questions regarding products and assist customers across the department and store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products to respond to inquiries and make suggestions.
  • Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
  • Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes.
  • Model excellent customer service, friendliness, and a clean, orderly department.
  • Demonstrate creative merchandising and keep displays stocked.
  • Maintain workload to meet production deadlines and complete paperwork per policy.
  • Follow merchandising, cash control, labor control, safety and loss prevention rules.
  • Promote sales through intercom announcements and store programs.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; reinforce safety procedures.

  • Receive and utilize all bulletins, announcements, and special programs to assist with creating additional sales.
  • Complete all paperwork according to company policy.
  • Ensure that all current merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, associate and customer engagement rules are being followed.
  • Promote sales through intercom announcements.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
